Maine Solar Solutions, a leading solar installation company established in 2012 and based in Brunswick Maine, seeks Maine licensed Electricianswith a commitment to quality, efficiency, and integrity.

Our company designs, installs, and services residential and commercial grid-tied solar electric systems and energy storage (battery) systems such as Tesla’s Powerwall system.

By joining Maine Solar Solutions, you will help Maine homeowners and businesses make the move to solar and battery-based systems. In conjunction with installing residential and commercial solar electric systems, we often perform common electrical contracting work, such as service upgrades, service panel upgrades, sub-panel installations, and other common electrical services.

Maine Solar Solutions offers a Journeyman Electrician Apprenticeship program authorized by the Maine Department of Labor. Solar Installers and helper electricians who work for us are eligible for participation in this in-house training program based on meeting certain criteria.

Qualifications

We encourage newly licensed electricians to join our team. We will train you and help you develop the skills to excel in your trade.

An experienced candidate will:

Have a Maine Limited, Journeyman, or Master Electrician license and at least one year of related experience
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the NEC
Demonstrate a practical knowledge of common tasks including wiring, grounding, interconnection, permitting, and inspections
OSHA 10-hour preferred
Work as a team member of our cooperative and motivated team culture
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to maintain efficiency
Demonstrate that you are organized and methodical
Be polite and courteous; enjoy interacting with customers
Your Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform system commissioning and function checks
Review system and interconnection design for adherence to Electrical Code (NEC) and industry best practice
Have reliable transportation and a current driver’s license with a good record
Basic competence with computers, including Excel, Word, e-mail, and web-based applications

Pay: $32.00 – $45.00 per hour
Compensation will be based on experience; there is room for advancement based on skills gained and demonstration of productivity & leadership.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
