POWERING CLEAN ENERGY JOBS IN MAINE

For the future of our state

About

The Maine Clean Energy Jobs Network was created by the Maine Department of Energy Resources (DOER) to grow Maine’s economy by empowering and energizing the State’s clean energy sector. This online resource connects jobseekers to clean energy employers who are growing and scaling operations in Maine. This initiative was funded by the Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan and informed by the Maine Won’t Wait climate action plan as well as the Strategic Plan for Maine 10-year economic development strategy.

Values & focus

Maine is a clean energy leader. The Maine Clean Energy Jobs Network targets five disciplines within the clean energy sector, including energy efficiency, renewables, clean transportation, grid modernization and energy storage, and clean transportation. By connecting jobseekers to Maine-based employers and training programs in the sector, this comprehensive resource will help Maine meet the established goal of doubling the number of clean energy jobs in the State to 30,000 by 2030.

30,000 by 2030

By 2050, 100% of electricity sold in Maine will be supplied by renewable energy resources. Maine needs to reach 30,000 clean energy jobs by 2030, and we’re already halfway there. These jobs are spread out across the state, from metro to rural areas, serving all current and future Maine workers. Investing in workforce development helps create and keep jobs right here in Maine as we advance our clean energy, climate, and economic development goals.
