From training programs to legal help to funding and beyond, the following resources are intended to help you achieve your goals. For job seekers

Employment & Training

The Maine Apprenticeship Program combines on-the-job learning with technical and theoretical classroom instruction to provide comprehensive and structured training for jobs meant to meet the specific needs of employers in Maine. Training ranges from trade roles in construction to management roles in healthcare and education, providing expansive experiences for apprentices who are at least 16 years old. Learn more here.

Financial Assistance

TANF provides cash assistance to families while they work towards becoming self-sufficient. TANF offers the Higher Opportunity for Pathways to Employment (HOPE) program, which helps Maine parents enroll ing and complete training and education beyond high school by providing financial support for costs related to training and education. TANF also offers the ASPIRE program, which helps recipients move towards financial independence through case management, job training, education, support and employment services. Learn more here.

Funding & Credits

The Harold Alfond Center coordinates all workforce training programs for Maine's Community Colleges (MCCs) and works closely with business leaders and workforce specialists throughout Maine to provide a variety of training models for trainees. Businesses can receive scholarships and apply for training funds to address their unique needs. Funding for businesses can come from the following programs: Put ME to Work; Maine Workforce Development Compact; and Maine Quality Center.
