How we’re doing so far

Maine’s clean energy economy grew more than three times faster than its overall economy between 2016 and 2022, increasing by 14% and adding nearly 2,000 jobs. With over 2,500 clean energy businesses and 15,000 clean energy workers employed, Maine’s clean energy industry contributed $2.31 billion to Maine’s economy in 2022. Notably, Maine boasts a high number of jobs in construction, installation, engineering, and environmental consulting that are pivotal to the clean energy sector, positioning the State well to create a thriving clean energy economy.
