The Estimating Manager will be responsible for managing and performing all estimating activities to put together a successful bid. This individual must have an understanding of the bid process for public and private work and the environment of working with non-negotiable bid deadlines.
Job ResponsibilitiesProject selection and identification with Senior Management.Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.Work in estimating system to bid work.Lead a team bidding projects in the Infrastructure Market.Lead the review process of the bid with estimating and operations.Lead margin reviews with Senior Management.Understand the schedule of construction projects.Able to manage multiple estimates at the same time.Foster and maintain strategic Subcontractor and Vendor relationships.Participate in contract and change order negotiations.Qualifications/ RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent education and field experience.5-10 years of estimating experience with familiarity with heavy civil work, willing to expand knowledge of mechanical and electrical work.Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and HCSS required.Must possess excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, with the ability to produce highly professional estimates.Successful track record in client relations and upholding impeccable business ethics and standards.Cianbro is an employee-owned, tobacco-free, equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate based on marital status, race, color, creed, gender, sex, religion, national origin, gender identity, age, veteran status, union affiliation, physical or mental disability, citizenship status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or other legally protected status.
