Solar Installer – Electrical Apprentice

This position is part of the installation team responsible for the highest quality installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems for our clients. This position includes, but is not limited to, travelling and working with our solar PV installation teams in both residential and commercial settings. Individuals in this position are also required to participate in the ReVision Energy Electrical Apprenticeship Program (REEAP), an education program that qualifies apprentices to earn a highly valuable electrical license.

This program is provided to Installer-Electrical Apprentices at no cost and includes paid, on-the-job learning (e.g., loading/unloading equipment, staging and ladder work, using hand tools and carrying equipment on rooftops, installing conduit, and wiring). In order to meet apprenticeship and licensing requirements, REEAP participants are also required to commit to 150 hours of unpaid schooling per year for four years.

Roles and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Assist the Lead Installer/Project Manager with quality solar electric installations.
Assist with project loading to ensure all necessary materials and tools arrive on the job site.
Assist with overall crew and job site safety. 
Help maintain tools and trucks in excellent condition. 
Assist with general site preparation and clean up.
Participate in and satisfactory completion of our in-house Apprentice program through Revision Energy Training Center (RETC). 
Travel to job sites as needed

Critical Skills/Expectations:

Must have a clean and valid driver’s record 
Must have excellent customer service skills in every interaction. 
Effectively coordinate and communicate with others. 
Must be able to comfortably lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, work on roofs and in crawl spaces in varying hot and cold temperatures.
Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction techniques.
Teamwork – able to establish collaborative working relationships with peers and supervisors.
Basic computer competence including Excel, Word and other commonly used software, including internet and email.
Must be able to effectively participate in online and in-person electrical training.
Demonstrated commitment to completing job tasks and an average of five hours per week on electrical training during the 30-week REEAP academic year.
Code of Conduct – act accordingly as a guest at our customer’s home.
Strong desire to work for a renewable energy company, and interest in developing professionally. 

Desired Licenses or Additional Qualifications:

OSHA 10 hour safety course
College Degree
Solar certification/training preferred
